Chatwing is a super simple embeddable chat widget for any site. Boston based Chatwing launched in February and seem to have nailed the implementation side, embedding the code is easy. A nice touch is the now obligatory Facebook and Twitter integration that most apps nowadays feature, often it doesn’t make sense and feels like a bolton but in this case it feels a bit more logical. WordPress and Blogspot auto-integration would speed up the adoption process no doubt though.

There are existing players in this space like Whoson – although their solution is paid at around $40 a month.

The only question we have is – what’s the monetization strategy? Wibya have done a great job of creating a huge ad inventory with their embeddable toolbars, but a freemium model might be more lucrative in this case.
